Places in-between

The impermanence of structures becomes destructive to the land around us. A new habitat is formed around the waste left behind. Patterns and textures combine into a weathered artifact attracting us visually into exploring the space, while repelling us at the same time. There is a gradual change to these locations presenting proof of life both past and present.

These images were made on Portra 400 35mm film in the states of Washington, Montana, and Alaska.

This series has been displayed at the Baxter Hotel for a Montana State University Senior Exhibition, at Mt. Hood Community College for the Society of Photographic Education’s Exhibition of “Renewal,” and online for Analog Forever Magazine’s exhibition “Marks on the Land.”
